Arrests after car allegedly taken from woman at Old Connaught Avenue

TWO MEN were arrested following the alleged hijacking of a car in Bray. Another vehicle was discovered burnt out near the site of the alleged hijacking, according to gardaí.

The female driver of a black hatchback was stopped by two men on Old Connaught Avenue that afternoon. She was uninjured in the alleged incident.

Two men were arrested in the Saggart area before being detained at Tallaght Garda Station prior to being charged at a special sitting of Bray District Court last Friday night.

Eugene Traynor (39), 15 Whitestown Grove, Blanchards­town, and Martin Cully (35), 5 Drumcoura Green, Jobstown, Tallaght, are both charged with unlawfully seizing a motor vehicle at Old Connaught Avenue in Bray last Thursday, June 15.

The men were remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill today ( Wednesday).
