Free concerts at the bandstand

BRAY’S iconic bandstand is the venue for a series of free Sunday afternoon concerts which will run on selected Sundays over the summer months.

Music kicks off at 2.30pm from big top bands from around the country and all are invited to attend and enjoy the sounds of great musicians.

So far, Bray Concert Band and the Airport Police Fire Service Band gave a fantastic performanc­e over the previous two Sundays and the concerts will continue with Bray Concert Band repeating its performanc­e on Sunday, June 25, starting at 2.30 p.m. The series of concerts will continue on Sunday, July 9 with St James’s Brass and Reed Band, with acts for July 16 and July 23 to be confirmed.

Ardee Concert Band will take to the bandstand on Sunday, July 30, while The Garda Band and Garda Community Day will take place on August 13. On Sunday, August 20, the Quintet from Army No. 1 Band will perform on Sunday, August 20, while the Airport Police Fire Service Band will repeat its performanc­e on Sunday, August 27. Blanchards­town Brass Band will perform on Sunday, August 3rd followed by Lourdes Brass Band performing at the final concert of the summer on Sunday, September 10.
