Summer Sundays at Bray Bandstand

THE airport band entertaine­d sun worshipper­s recently at Bray’s bandstand, as part of a programme of entertainm­ent set for the coming months.

Summer Sundays is a series of free concerts which will be on at the bandstand on selected Sundays during the summer months.

The lineup includes St James Brass and Reed Band on July 9, acts on July 16 and 23 to be confirmed, Ardee Concert Band on July 30, the Garda Band and Garda Community Day on August 13, Quintet from the Army Band on August 20, Airport band again on August 27, Blanchards­town Brass Band on September 3, and Lourdes Brass Band on September 10.

The summer will also see movies at the harbour, starting with Jaws on June 29.

The films will be on fortnightl­y, with showings to include Mamma Mia, Grease and The Lego Movie.

‘ Through this new campaign we are looking to attract more tourists to the town and boost the local economy,’ said Mick Glynn of Bray Chamber.

‘ The events will run to mid September and will really showcase Bray as a vibrant place to visit.’
