A warm tribute to the Féile champions
A huge congratulations to the St. Nicholas team on winning the Cup in their division of the Féile football finals.
They breezed through every game. There were fantastic scenes in Dunlavin for the home coming last Sunday evening.
Well done to their management who commended the lads on their exemplary behaviour both on and off the field over the entire weekend.
The lads reached the final against Graiguecullen Carlow in the beautiful Castleblaney GAA grounds and at half they were already in a comfortable position score line of 2-6 to 3 points.
The second half was like an exhibition of football with powerful teamwork and excellent points taken.
They held Graiguecullen scoreless in the second half and the St. Nicks lads completely dominated the game in every position.
Final score: 3-12 to 0-3.
Not one player stood out as every man on the field was absolutely fantastic.
Well done to every member of the team, their management, the St. Nicholas committee who work so hard behind the scenes, to Dunlavin and Donard GAA clubs for their support and especially to the parents of the kids who bring to training, to games and who are so enthusiastic to encourage these young players to be the best they can be.
Two years in a row winners of Féile will go down in the history books as an amazing achievement.
