BARBECUE

Avonmore Game Club will hold its ninth charity/fundraiser barbecue on Saturday, July 1, in Kavanaghs Vartry House at 6.30 p.m. This year again a donation will be made to Roundwood senior citizens And Roundwood National School.

BINGO

Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday, July 16, from 3 p.m. Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend. €5 per book and great raffle prizes. Come along and enjoy.

DAY TRIPS

There will be a one-day trip to Kilbeggan distillery and St Mel’s Cathedral and shopping in Athlone on July 29 which includes, scones, tea and dinner. The bus will pick up in Roundwood at Parish Hall at 9 a.m. Total cost €70 per person. All money must be in before July 1. To book please contact Susan at 087 6273032.

WALKING GROUP

The Roundwood whizzers will have their last organised walk on Wednesday, June 28, leaving from the Coach House car park at 7 p.m. Well done to the great bunch of all ages who walked every week since last October. Thanks to Nollaig Cruise, Mary Dowling and all in Wicklow Local Sports Partnership, who helped set up the group through the Roundwood and District Community Council. The group will be back in action in September, have a great summer and keep walking.

TIDY TOWNS

Roundwood is looking great thanks to all those who adopt a spot, litter pick, erect flower boxes, hanging baskets, cut grass, etc. throughout the area. A special thanks to the Tús participants who work away quietly in the village and on the Vartry Walks. The judging takes place in early July with the assessment starting from the approach roads of the village. Please make an extra effort in the coming weeks to pick up litter, pull kerbside weeds, etc. in and around your patch no matter where you live in the area. Your support is much appreciated.

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw. The numbers drawn were; 4, 10, 23 and 24. There were four match-three winners, Luke and Chloe, Majella McLaughlin, Miro Ludva and Leonone Earle. Next week’s jackpot will be 11,200.

CAR BOOT SALE

MEN’S SHED

We listen and learn and sup- port each other in the shed and please feel free to come along any Tuesday morning (10 a.m. to midday) to Pat Carr’s place at Mullinaveigue. You are sure of a very warm welcome.

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

The Wicklow Man will play in Moneystown Community Centre on Friday, July 14, from 9.30 p.m. till 12. Tea served, refreshments also available, door prizes. Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing, jive, etc. Our August dance is on Friday the 11th and our September dance will be held on September 8.

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

The next dance in Roundwood Parish Centre will be on Friday, July 21, with dancing by John Flood.

BARN DANCE

Moneystown barn dance and barbecue in aid of Moneystown Community Centre will take place on Saturday, July 29, in the community centre starting at 8.30 p.m. Music by the Three Bobs is from 10 p.m. to midnight and the Roamin Cadillacs from midnight to 2 a.m. and disco afterwards. BLESSING OF GRAVES

Roundwood Parish Cemetery Sunday/Pattern Sunday – will take place on Sunday, July 23. Please note the 11.30 a.m. Mass will be Celebrated in Roundwood Cemetery. This Mass will be offered for all interred in the cemetery and will include a blessing of the Graves.

CEILI FIGURE DANCING

Any adults interesting in reliving their youth when we all learned to ceili dance? There are ceili dancing lessons in the Parish Hall in Roundwood on Wednesday nights starting at 8 p.m. for an hour. It’s learning to ceili dance in a fun and friendly manner (solo and group dances). Just come along on the night

45 CARD GAME

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8.30 p.m. Tea served.

SET DANCING

Roundwood set dancing continues every Thursday night from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m. in Kavanagh’s Lounge, Roundwood. Music this month with Michael and Brian. Admission remains at €5. Beginners are always welcome along with anyone looking for a bit of exercise and a fun night out.

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market is open every Sunday from midday till 5 p.m. in the Parish Centre. Come for all your fresh bread, home baking, jams etc. There will also be pictures, home crafts, plants and more. We look forward to seeing you all. New members always welcome.

ANGEL HEALING

Why not take two hours out of your week just for you and join us on a Monday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Roundwood.

Here you will be part of a group who know that looking after their well being is so important. You will learn how to meditate and be still, to connect to your Angels and be supported by the wonderful people who have attended this group in Roundwood for 13 years.
