COLOUR RUSH IN BALLYWALTRIM

- BY MARY FOGARTY

THE maroon army donned their dazzling whites last Sunday for a colour rush in aid of Ardmore Rovers.

After 90 days of planning and plenty of hard work from an army of volun- teers, the 5km run got under way in Balllywaltrim.

Hundreds of participants started off in gleaming white and finished doused in an array of colour, all to help Armore Rovers FC.

Bray Municipal District, Shoreline Bray, Bray Chamber and The Martello all got behind the event for the Ardmore2020 campaign.

The campaign aims to secure a permanent home for Ardmore as it heads towards its 40th birthday.

Runners and walkers arrived with a nice white T-shirt, to leave with a multi-coloured one after completing the course.

Everyone who signed up got a T-shirt, a bottle of water and some powder paint. Coaches from Shoreline got everyone warmed up, while a DJ helped get the party started.

It was a fun day, with masses of paint thrown, and gallons of water sprayed.

Organisers thanked the volunteers, participants and sponsors.
