Doyle reappointed as junior minister
DEPUTY Andrew Doyle has been reappointed as Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar unveiled his selection for the junior ministries on Tuesday of last week, June 20, and it was confirmed that the Roundwood politician would maintain the role he has held since May 2016.
‘I am delighted to be reappointed,’ said Minister Doyle. ‘It’s a huge honour for me personally to continue in my role as Minister of State with responsibility for Food, Forestry and Horticulture. I have been privileged to serve in this Department over the past 13 months and look forward to continuing this role in the times ahead.’
Minister Doyle said it that was a ‘challenging time’ for the agricultural sector in Ireland as people await the fallout of Brexit.
‘ There is much uncertainty as a result of the decision of the UK to leave the European Union. Working alongside Minister Michael Creed, we have engaged with all relevant stakeholders and built strong relationships which will play a leading role in facing the challenges that lie ahead as we deal with Brexit,’ he said.
Minister Doyle also thanked his supporters and the people of County Wicklow and East Carlow for their continuous and on-going support.
