MACREDDIN VILLAGE FOOD MARKET

Macreddin Village Food Market takes place on Sunday, July 2, from midday to 5 p.m. The market allows artisan food producers and farm food producers to showcase and sell their products directly to the public and at the same time is Ireland’s only ‘no charge to stall holder’ market. Market visitors will experience a wide selection of the freshest and highest quality food stalls, live jazz, a spit roast, organic prosecco, creamy pints from Actons Country Pub plus much more.

The market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from April to October and runs from midday to 5 p.m.

JOHN MCCORMACK SONGBOOK – ROSS SCANLON AND DAVID O’SHEA

Acclaimed tenor Ross Scanlon and pianist David O’Shea bring to the Mermaid Arts Centre their sell-out tribute show, The John McCormack Songbook, honouring the great Irish singer and performer. Featuring classics such as ‘I Hear You Calling Me,’ ‘Macushla’, ‘Angels Guard Thee’ and many more audience favourites, the show takes place on Saturday, July 1, with tickets priced at €18/€16.

BRAY ARTS SHOW

The Bray Arts Show takes place on the first Monday of every month in the Martello Hotel, Bray. Bray Arts is a forum for practition­ers of music, art, poetry, writing, dance and drama in the Bray area. Doors open at 8 p.m. and all are welcome. Admission is €5/€ concession.

TEDDY BEARS PICNIC

A Teddy Bears’ Picnic will take place in aid of Purple House Cancer Support in St Joseph’s, Old Conna Avenue in Bray on Tuesday, July 4, from midday. Admission is €6 per adult including refreshmen­ts. Children free.

THE TEN DARK SECRETS OF THE IRISH REVOLUTION.

Paddy Cullivan of Callan’s Kicks, The Late Late Show, Leviathan and Kilkenomic­s brings an audiovisua­l spectacula­r a century after the Easter Rising to the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray on Thursday, July 6 p.m. from 9 p.m. Using satire, imagery, historical insight and song, Paddy reveals the 10 strangest things and darkest secrets that happened during the Rising, Revolution and Counter-Revolution (Civil War). He also draws parallels with those events and the effects on modern Ireland in a story that unfolds like an addictive whodunnit.

JASON BYRNE LIVE AT ROYAL HOTEL.

Comedian Jason Byrne is to perform his show ‘Popped Up’ at the Royal Hotel in Bray on Saturday, July 22, at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at €22 and are available at the reception of the Royal Hotel. The show is over-16s.

BRAY AIR DISPLAY

The award winning Bray Air Display is scheduled to take place over two days, Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23 (subject to licence). The food, craft and business village is taking place during the Bray Air Display weekend. The event is managed by Bray Summerfest with main support by the Irish Aviation Authority as well as Wicklow County Council and Bray.ie.

BOOK CLUB GREYSTONES LIBRARY

For avid readers, there are three Book Clubs for adults in Greystones Library. The clubs take place on the second Wednesday and the last Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. and the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

THE MUSIC CIRCLE

The Music Circle meets on the first Wednesday of every month in Greystones Library from 7 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. Come along and listen or participat­e by choosing your favourite classical pieces to share with others.

MUSIC MEDLEY

The East Coast Academy of Performing Arts are proud to present ‘A Musical Medley at the Mermaid Arts Centre on Saturday, July 17, The evening of song and dance will feature excerpts from all your favourite movies and musicals from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Hairspray, High School Musical, a Chorus Line and Cinderella. The event features students aged four to 12 from ECAP’s Greystones branch.
