KBC relay race for charity

-

KBC’S Hub2Hub relay race raised €40,000 for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, and the 600km route took in County Wicklow.

The bank matched the donation, bringing the total to €80,000.

Members of the public and staff from KBC Greystones came out in strength to support the 60 strong relay team as colleagues ran through Wicklow during Hub2Hub. The unique volunteering challenge was a demanding 600km run with staff taking part in the challenge.

KBC colleagues ran day and night to complete the course in 10km relays in 60 hours to raise funds for the ASI.

KBC Greystones Hub Manager Kevin Smullen said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled with the amount raised for this great cause. All of those involved in the Hub2Hub challenge should be very proud of themselves and the dedication they have shown. The energy and positivity of everyone was astounding, regardless of the time of day or night.’
