€8,000 fund to be split among 10 applicants for for estate maintenance

A GRANT FUND of €8,000 will be divided among 10 applicants for local authority estate grants.

District administrator Myra Porter told members that there were 10 applications for a portion of the available money.

She recommended that each estate be allocated an initial €250, with the balance divided relative to the number of social houses in each estate.

She said that they may go back to some for a bit more information on what has been done so more.

Some were looking for funding other than for the upkeep of the green area so there may be some correspondence on what the grant can actually be used for.
