Excitement as Tinahely show launched

THIS year’s Tinahely Show has been officially launched and entries are now being taken for the many classes that will feature in the show on bank holiday Monday, August 7, at Fairwood Park, Tinahely.

Indoor entries include baking, craft, farm and garden, quilts, junior section and poultry. The horse section has many classes to choose from, such as ridden hunters, ponies, brood mares, Irish draughts, young horses, miniature horses, donkeys, driving and show jumping with registered and sportsman classes. Show jumping entries are taken on the day adjacent to the arena.

The cattle section has classes for Holstein, Friesians, Aubrac, Simmental, Shorthorn, Limousin, Charolais, Angus, Belgian Blue, Hereford, Parthenais­e, and Commercial animals while the sheep classes include Cheviot, Jacob, Charolais, Llewyn, Texel, Zwartbles, Rouge de h’ouest, crossbred and commercial.

For the first time ever, the Tinahely Show is having pig classes as a qualifier for the All Ireland Pig Show finals. A pig agility show will run throughout the day, this definitely will be worth a visit. The dog show can be entered on the day, adjacent to the ring and dog agility tests continue throughout the day.

Early bird tickets are available online for €10 up to August 2. Family ticket cost €40 (2 adults, 3 children under 18) and admission for students and OAPS €10. Free entry for children (12). Adult admission on day is €15.
