Plenty of thrills and spills at second Ballinacla­sh festival

THE village of Ballinacla­sh played host to the second annual Clash Fest, which ran from Friday to Sunday, June 23 to 25.

The family festival featured a packed line-up, with live music performed over all three nights in the Fest Marquee.

An historical walk around Ballinacla­sh took place on the Saturday, with those interested meeting outside Phelan’s at 3 p.m..

Youngsters brought along their favourite teddy or stuffed toy to a Teddy Bears Picnic, while other older children were treated to in a Kids Fancy Dress Disco.

The highlight of the weekend was an action-packed family sports day which took place on the Sunday. Events included Boxercise, a wheelbarro­w race and tug-o-war.

A barbecue, bouncy castles and water slide were up and running during Saturday and Sunday, A hay rolling race proved popular, while a 5k road race was also held.

Other attraction­s included a ClashFacto­r Talent Show, puppet and magic shows, numerous competitio­ns and an inflatable obstacle course.
