CARTOON FESTIVAL

Keep the weekend of July 28 to July 30 free because it is going to be a fun, jam-packed weekend. We had our biggest meeting last week with over 25 people, so planning is well under way. We have a huge music weekend planned, with Albert Webster and Liam Kinsella organising the music it promises to have a wide variety of music to suit everyone.

The popular busking competition is back so it would be lovely to see some of the old faces who took part in the previous festivals coming back to play along side the new talent. The Market Square will be buzzing with live music from traditional music, DJ, live bands with lots of family entertainment. The local pubs are also organising musics to keep the festival atmosphere going.

The RDA kindly moved their annual fireworks to Sunday to tie in with the weekend and this promises to be one of the the best with Big Digger playing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by the Bandits before and after the Fireworks. We are still looking for Terry Willers’ pictures to display in the Exhibition centre so please drop into Bill Porter in Avondale sports. Keep an eye out for next week’s notes, details on workshops, Cartoonists to follow. Check out our Facebook page ‘The Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival’ for more updates.
