Potential of more landslides addressed

CLLR John Ryan asked in a notice of motion that district brings together the parties who need to deal with the landslide behind the houses at Mount Herbert on the Herbert Road and the affected houses at the Maltings to agree a plan to address the ongoing potential of further landslides.

District administrator David Forde said that staff have already advised affected property owners of their need to cooperate to find a solution. However, the district has no powers in relation to this matter. Issues relating to dangerous places is centrally administered by the environmental department at Wicklow County Council.

A report commissioned by Wicklow County Council was circulated to the members.
