His departure will see a new managing director take over the implementation of an action plan formulated in respose to the HSE Assurance Review into complaints handling and governance at the organisation which supports adults with intellectual disabilities.
As part of the plan, which is to be implemented over a nine month period, a review of the complaints policy and systems is to take place as well as a review of the training and role of managers.
There will also be changes to the board, with chairman Donal O’Brien due to step down at the end of August.

Minister Harris said that Mr Jeyes made a number of recommendations in his review and that these are being acted upon through the action plan.
‘Mr Jeyes has agreed to carry out a further investigation into the 33 safeguarding complaints identified through his original report. Deloitte are carrying out an audit of personal finances and also a value for money audit on the service as a whole. Monthly meetings are now taking place to monitor the progress of the next steps action plan,’ he said.
