LaTouche Legacyand historyfestival Newcastle Market
At the launch of the 29th La Touche Legacy & 4th Festival of History in Greystones Golf Club Professor Michael Laffan Emeritus Professor UCD delivered a major paper on the first Leader and President of the new state W. T. Cosgrave.
Prior to the lecture former Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave (now 97) son of W. T sent warm greeting to the seminar and very much appreciated the tribute being provided by Michael Laffan on the work and times of his father.
George Jones said he was delighted with the attendance on the night and he looked forward to large numbers attending on the last weekend in September.
He also confirmed that St Brigid’s National School would this year be providing the opening exhibitions and he thanked outgoing Principle St Kathleen and her teaching colleagues for their work in preparing this exhibitions.

The regular Saturday morning market takes place at Newcastle Community Centre.
The market will be on from 10.30 a.m. to 12 midday with fresh vegetables and produce available.
