Call for restrictions on camper vans

-

CAMPER vans should be banned from spending more than one night on Greystones Seafront according to Cllr Derek Mitchell.

Speaking last week Cllr Mitchell said that some vans, with families in them, have been camping there most of the summer.

‘I welcome visitor vans who want to stay one night but those staying longer need more facilities such as clothes drying and toilet emptying facilities which aren’t there. It is very unhealthy and unsightly.’

He said that the Council and the Tidy Towns work hard to keep the area attractive and the camper vans are detracting from this.

Cllr Mitchell also pointed out that the area along the seafront is currently governed by pay parking between 12 noon and 6 p.m.
