AGB

AGB’s Senior men’s next championship game is against Kiltegan on August 12 at 5pm.

AGB’s Junior ‘B’ men’s team played Blessington on Thursday evening away, in the championship. Well done to the Junior Bs, another brilliant performance finished AGB 2-12 to Blessington 1-08.

The strength and fitness of this Junior B panel is evident as they powered through Blessington’s defence.

AGB’s scorers were Peter Hempenstall (0-03), Darragh Culleton (0-03), Ian Bracken (0-03), Alan Mc Bride (0-01), Quentin O Reilly (0-02), Donal O Keefe (1-00) Tirnan Mc Bride (1-00).

AGB’s under-11 boys played Annacurra at home last Wednesday evening. Both teams put in great performances but unfortunately the score didn’t reflect their efforts. Its a learning cure for our under-11s, but one they will overcome in time with confidence.

AGB under-15s played Carnew on Wednesday last. A tough battle for the under-15s but one they played very well in.

Although the final score wasn’t in their favour the effort and football seen throughout the match is a credit to this young upcoming team.

AGB’s under-13 boys had a great game against Bray last Monday evening in Pearse’s Park. Final score finished AGB 13-7 to 1-3 Bray Emmets. Well done under-13s, a great team performance on the night.

AGB’s Senior ladies finished 1-12 to 2-7 on Friday evening against Bray. After a very tough match, the girls came back in the second half with a great display and really got stuck in.

Strong football was seen and the girls really pushed themselves to get back in the game. Scores were from Stephanie Martin (0-04), Annmarie Keegan(1-02), Annie Conroy (0-02), Aine O’Reilly snr (001), Aine O’Reilly jnr (0-01), Katie Hurley (0-01), Doireann kavanagh (0-01).

Super Valu Arklow, are running a promotion from the 22nd of June called “Behind the Ball”.

The promotion will give AGB the opportunity to win some much needed footballs for our Juvenile section.

The idea is that the customer shops in store and spends over €20, the customer uses their Real Rewards card, the till prints a receipt then the customer chooses their club to support and drops receipt into our collection unit.

This will run for nine weeks, so whichever club reaches 2000 receipts first will win a set of footballs for their club. So please spread the word and let’s win these for AGB.

AGB’s clubhouse is now open for Sunday dinner, every Sunday this July from 1pm to 6pm. Call in and sample our delicious menu, with great choices and prices. The bar is also open on Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm during the summer months.

AGB’s summer camp will takeThursdaye this August in Pearse’s Park on the week of the 14th to the 18th from 10am to 2pm. The price will be €45 per child, or €80 for two children. Great fun and games will be played. To celebrate our summer camp, we will also be taking a trip to Croke Park on the Friday of our camp week at an additional cost of €5.

To book your place please contact Sinead on 087 1374812.

The next meeting of the AGB Executive Committee will take place on the 09/08/2017 in the AGB offices in Pearse’s Park at 8pm.

AGB Club gear is available at great prices. Contact Kerry on 087 3287881 to order.
