Named in a number of polls as one of the worst songs ever recorded, and No 7 in a Rolling Stone poll to find the 10 most annoying songs ever, it nevertheless bagged an Ivor Novello award for airplay in 2006, reached No 1 in many territories, including Ireland, the UK and the US, and has sold well over 600,000 copies in the UK and over three million in the US. Blunt himself has stated that he hates the song, but it remains his biggest hit, and his only single to reach the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.
