Enniskerry Library will be hosting the Summer Stars Reading Adventure Awards Day on Saturday, September 2 at 11.30 a.m. The event is being held for the local children who who have completed their summer stars reading adventure.

The Summer Stars Reading Adventure is a free programme, open to all children. Each child who registered for the programme at their local library joined in the fun of reading lots of exciting books during the summer.

Children got their own Summer Stars Reading Card to record their progress and the Summer Stars Reward Stamp was added to their card at the library for each book read.

Fun rewards were be provided along the way. At the end of the programme, all children who have participat­ed are invited to attend an awards event.

Enniskerry library is again open four days each week.

The library had been reduced to two days per week, due to staff shortages, but that has now been addressed. Sinead Murdiff-Mulligan will be the new Branch Librarian in Enniskerry.

The new opening hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Councillor Christophe­r Fox said ‘It’s great to have the full hours back again. Thanks to the library users in Enniskerry for their patience. We have decided to open on Saturday mornings instead of Saturday afternoon.’
