Clinical Knockanann­a run riot against battling Carnew

A great start to the Wicklow Senior camogie championsh­ip for Knockanann­a with a win over newly promoted Carnew on Tuesday of last week.

Although Knockanann­a were convincing winners, Carnew worked hard right throughout the game and displayed their usual never-say-die attitude.

Ciara Byrne finished as top scorer for Knockanann­a on nine points while debutants Dervla Byrne and Aimee Maher finished with 2-02 and 0-03 respective­ly.

The evening was topped off for Knockanann­a with the presentati­on of the Senior league cup, which they secured earlier this year, to captain Aine O’Keeffe.
