TWO top County Wicklow brands have joined together to create the perfect afternoon treat.

The five-star Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort has launched a new afternoon tea menu for summer months which sees them team up with local supplier, Wicklow Way Wines.

Ireland’s first fruit winery, the company produces Móinéir wines, luxurious artisan fruit wines that are made from 100 per cent Irish fruit.

Druids Glen’s executive chef Anthony Duggan has put together a special new Afternoon Tea menu inspired by the Garden of Ireland which perfectly complements the Móinéir Strawberry Wine. Guests can indulge in a classic combination of finger sandwiches, scones served warm and desserts including a Strawberry and Lemon Torte, Summer Berry Tart and Strawberry and Almond Financier, which are prepared fresh every day.

Wicklow Way Wines, based in Newtownmountkennedy, was founded by Pamela Walsh and Brett Stephenson. Móinéir is the Irish word for ‘meadows’ and reflects the wines’ origins in the Wicklow Mountains, where they picked the berries for their first wines and still continue to pick berries. The wines are made by hand and use the same production methods as grape wine including the fermentation, pressing and bottling, but use Irish berries instead of grapes to create their unique flavour and taste.

Druids Glen Summer Afternoon Tea is served in the conservatory every day from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
