St Crispin’s Cell family day event

-

GREYSTONES Tidy Towns organised a family day last weekend to celebrate Ancient Rathdown and St Crispin’s.

The event was held as part of heritage week and took place at St Crispin’s Cell last Saturday.

There was live music and face painting as well as a celebration of the heritage of Greystones. The day also included an art competition. There were talks on the history and relevance of having such a unique and historical site so close to the town of Greystones.

The event was possible because the site has been surveyed. Overlooking the sea, it has been well maintained throughout the summer as work progresses on the clearing of the ruin of Captain Tarrant’s house.

This historical site has never been more accessible and shows the many chapters of the development of what is now modern Greystones. It was an educational and enriching day for everyone who attended.
