As this is Heritage Week, GAHS are holding a repeat of their very successful event ‘Reading Greystones History’ that was held in Greystones Library for the Bealtaine Festival on 1st June. The event will take place this Thursday. August 24 at 7 p.m. in Greystones Library - very limited places are available and must be booked with the library.

Meanwhile, Amanda Emmet Booth is a descendent of Robert Emmet and her family home in Altidore is being opened as pert of Heritage week activities.

The house will be open daily to August 27 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Altidore is a rare Georgian castellated house. The tour is conducted by one of the Emmet family, direct descendants of brothers Thomas Addis and Robert Emmet, who now live at Altidore.

Admission is €5. For bookings or more information call (087) 7601369.
