Under 30s emerge victorious in charity match

-

A charity match pitched under 30s against over 30s in Roundwood recently to help raise money for the club’s upcoming Strictly Come Dancing.

Organised by Jess Scott she recruited women from around the area to take part in the match in a bid to raise the €500 necessary to compete in the competition. ‘It went brilliantly’, said Jess.

‘I wasn’t expecting that much of a turnout so it was great. I raised the €500 needed which was brilliant. Strictly Come Dancing takes place on October 21 and we will start to rehearse on September 8 when we will find out who we are paired with.’

Jess said she had no problem finding willing players to take part adding that there were seven sets of mothers and daughters taking part on the day including her own mother, Ann.

The match was won by the Under 30 team after a closely fought battle.
