A day out at Sharpeshill

-

SHARPESHILL Animal Sanctuary went back to basics as part of National Heritage Week. The event for all the family allowed guests to learn skills and take part in classes such as pottery, wood whittling, knitting.

Young visitors were afforded the opportunity to learn how items from the past were used on a daily basis.

Christien van Bussel provided a pottery workshop, while Sue and Caroline Jesper put on knitting and stone craft displays. There were also weaving displays put on by Trish and John. Other activities included knitting and pebble painting for the kids.

Live music on the green was provided by the Parnell Pipe Band and some native dog breeds were also on hand, including a presentation on the Kerry Blue and Irish terriers. Leah and Kim made sure the tea ad coffee flowed freely throughout the ‘Back to Basics’ open day. If you think you can offer a loving home to some of the animals at Sharpeshill then please contact the Wicklow SPCA at 0404 44783.
