Sports and student funding

Bray Credit Union is accepting applications for the Pat Woods Scholarship, closing on September 12, and Children’s Sports Kit Funding, closing on September 25.

Both application forms are available at braycu.ie or you can pick one up at the credit union. The Pat Woods Educational Scholarship 2017 will provide one lucky member with financial support for the duration of their college course or apprenticeship. Last year the two winners were Ruth Aherne and Liam Morgan.

The winner will receive €2,000 towards their education/apprenticeship fees for the duration of the course (maximum 4 years & minimum 2 years). The scholarship is in memory of the late Pat Woods, whose involvement at Bray Credit Union extends to the late 1960’s. He served as a voluntary board member since 2009 during which time he actively participated in credit union committees, courses and the Credit Union Development Association.

Local sports clubs age 16 years and under can apply for sports kit funding. This is the second year of the sports kit initiative.
