Enniskerry GAA Ladies and men together with friends turned out in Big numbers for a 50km and 100k Charity Cycle last Saturday. Well done to all who part, donated money or helped in any way.

Enniskerry footballer­s are out in the Quarter Final of the Junior Championsh­ip; at time of publicatio­n of Bray People the exact date, time and venue was still being decided.

SCHOOL

With the reopening of the School year everyone is asked to be more alert on the.roads around Enniskerry. All are also asked at this time to donate in some way to the Ben Melia Fund which takes place over the next two weekends for the very popular Enniskerry School Caretaker.

Date for your Diary this Saturday: This Saturday the Rathmichae­l Parish and School Fête will take place in the grounds of Rathmichae­l National School, Stonebridg­e Road, Shankill, Co. Dublin, from midday to 4 p.m.

Daily Prayer and Open Church, midday and 5 p.m. each day: Powerscour­t Church has re-opened for daily prayer. This year there will be two times of prayer, midday and 5 p.m. with the church being open between those times for quiet space and personal prayer.

Baptisms: Baptisms are now held on the second Saturday of the month in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry, for parishione­rs only. Please arrange with parish office. Parishione­rs are asked to please give two weeks notice if you wish to book a baptism.

Used Postage Stamps Needed: Barnardos Children’s Charity is looking for used stamps. The money raised through the sale of these stamps will go directly towards their work with vulnerable children here in Ireland. If you would like to leave your used stamps in an envelope in the basket at the back of the church we will forward them to Barnardos at regular intervals.

Monthly Rosary Group: Meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room in St Mary’s Church.

ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours have changed and are now as follows: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. GOLF CLASSIC

This Sunday the friends of Ben Melia in conjunctio­n with Enniskerry YC AFC are holding a golf classic in Powerscour­t Golf Club. The format will be a team of four (any combinatio­n). The cost is €280 per team including dinner. FIELD DAY

The Enniskerry field day takes place on Sunday, September 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join up to 10,000 others for a wonderful day of family fun. Fairground, pony rides, pet farm, games, traditiona­l sports, dog show, competitio­ns, art and crafts, music and dancing and much more. Tickets at venue, kids free, Just €5.
