‘THOUGHTS ON PAPER, CANVAS AND CLOTH’

-

Signal Arts Centre presents ‘ Thoughts on Paper, Canvas & Cloth’, an exhibition of art works from St John of God Community Services and Sunbeam House Services.

The exhibition will be under way from Monday next, September 11, until Sunday, September 24.

This exhibition presents a visual feast for the senses. Most of the artists from both services have been attending the School House for Art in Enniskerry every Wednesday for art skill and technique based workshops with artists Fiona O’Farrell and Eithne Griffin.

Other artists also included in this exhibition have attended in the past and everyone is delighted to be involved again.

Denis Diderot, philosopher and art critic, said that, ‘ Technique is a means to free the artist’. The weekly art practice involves conscious learning of artistic techniques and sub-conscious learning of social skills.

The work is fresh, vibrant and contemporary in nature and the artists have brought tremendous enthusiasm to the progressive development in their work.

An opening reception will take place on Sunday, September 17, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
