Joe’s 84th birthday celebrations
JOE MULLIGAN celebrated his 84th birthday last week, with the day including a visit by his good friends John and Mary Davis.
There were celebrations for John and Mary too, as they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary the following day.
Joe is from between Enniskerry and Roundwood, and is now a resident of Dargle Valley Nursing Home in Enniskerry.
John and Mary called in to wish him a happy birthday and John even played him a few tunes on his accordion.
There was also a small party later with the staff and residents, including a slice of cake and some tea.
John, Mary and Joe used to go dancing together up in Roundwood and remain firm friends. They visit him as often as they can.
John and Mary are former farmers, as is Joe.
They love music and dancing and had a great time talking about old times.
Mary is a native of Tinahely and John of Sandyford. Mary used to go to the dance halls in Dublin and John was in a band, which is how they met well over 50 years ago.
