Declan Clarke celebrated at cancer support golf event

THE recent Declan Clarke charity golf day in aid of Greystones Cancer Support at Delgany Golf Club was once again supported the local community.

The event was also assisted by a contribution from the Friday Mix ‘n Match players.

The sum of €2,635 was raised to help those affected by cancer, their families and their friends.

Now in its 20th year, the charity event was held in memory of famous amateur local golfer Declan Clarke. His memory is kept alive each year by putting it to good use in order to help others.

‘Greystones Cancer Support commends Delgany Golf Club for its continued support,’ said Sonia Walsh, chair of the group. ‘Its members are renowned for helping, not only each other, but those in the wider community.
