Liam Kelly vintage run

All roads will lead to the Summerhill House Hotel, Enniskerry this Saturday (September 9) when the garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club will host its ninth garden of Ireland run and the now third Liam Kelly Memorial Run – in conjunctio­n with Barrett Private Insurances.

This run has grown each year and will be the biggest ever to date and club officials are delighted to welcome their many guests which will include clubs from Lake Konstanz and Stuttgart in Germany, The Karmann Ghia Club, UK, The AOVC Northern Ireland and many participan­ts and old friends from the various Clubs around the country.

The weekend of festivitie­s will commence on Friday evening (eighth) with a Compliment­ary Welcome Reception at the Grove Bar, Delgany at 9.30 p.m. with music on the night provided by Cuillin and refreshmen­ts will also be provided.

On Saturday morning following compliment­ary tea and coffee, the run will start from the Summerhill House Hotel, Enniskerry at 10.30 a.m., registrati­on will commence at 9.30 a.m. Having returned to base and rested somewhat, the evening 2ill commence with a meal served at 8 p.m. followed by music and craic with music provided by ‘Skin the Goat’. Following a leisurely breakfast and chat on Sunday morning the Poker Run, which is kindly sponsored by Kelly Recovery Services, will start from the Summerhill Hotel at 11 a.m. And returning to the Grove Bar for the prize giving of both events. Cars registered on Saturday will be free of charge, however, there will be a fee of €10 for those registerin­g on Sunday morning for the Poker Run.

The club would like to take this opportunit­y to thank all those who have assisted in making this event possible, a very special thank you to the North Wicklow Motorcycli­sts Enthusiast­s, The Management and staff of the Summerhill House Hotel, who have been most accommodat­ing and helpful at all times and finally to Dinny Doyle for allowing us the use of his premises as our headquarte­rs and events throughout the year.
