Girls come out in force to ‘Give it a Try’ at Arklow RFC

-

ARKLOW Rugby Club recently participated in the IRFU ‘Give it a Try’ programme and 25 girls came out to the club and did just that.

The course, aimed at girls aged 9-14 years, ran once a week for six weeks and was an introduction to all things rugby related. Some were totally new to the game and some not so much but there was something for everyone and most importantly the girls had great fun.

Arklow Rugby Club were delighted to be a host club for this initiative and are proud to have a substantial junior section training weekly at the club.

The club would like to say a huge thanks to the girls for ‘giving it a try’, to their parents, and particularly to the coaches Barney Hynes, Emer Dillion, Sally Ann Hudson, Rachel Cooney and Kelly Ann Conroy.

Junior rugby training resumed last week in Arklow and new players are always welcome.

Training for girls aged 10-14 years is every Saturday from 10.30am with head coach Sally Ann Hudson. Please feel free to come along and ‘Give it a Try’.
