Old-style fun and games

-

BOYS and girls said a final farewell to the summer at Killruddery with a day of traditional games.

There were egg and spoon races, sack racing, wheelbarrow races and even a welly-throwing competition.

Families were invited to bring along a picnic to enjoy on the lawn in the formal gardens.

There was also Killruddery pork, beef and lamb on the barbecue, as well as all the usual tea room treats.

Art workshops were also available at Killruddery with ‘Me and the Moon’.

The last of the summer fling was included in admission to the gardens, or free for members.

It was a lovely day of traditional fun and every child who went along had a great time.

The gardens are open daily for the rest of September and then weekends only in October. The gardens are then closed until April.
