Milestone celebration at Charlesland Golf Club
CHARLESLAND Golf Club kicked off the celebrations last week as it marks 25 years of business in north Wicklow.
The club, which has recently undergone a €1 million refurbishment, will celebrate its milestone year with a serires of golf events throughout September and October as well as a gala evening on Saturday, October 21.
Developed by the Evans family in the 1992, Charlesland Golf Club appointed Carr Golf to operate on their behalf in 2015, with the intention of using their specialised expertise to improve the presentation of the course and propel the business to a new level.
Carr Golf has made a number of new staffing appointments recently to steer the ship.
Joining Charlesland from Killruddery House & Gardens, Nikki McHugh has been appointed the Bar and Restaurant Manager and has developed a new menu to cater for diners in the new Pavillion Room, which caters for groups of 10 to 100.
Andrew Curry, who has taken on the role of Director of Golf, has over 15 years’ experience working in the golf industry and is focussed on driving the developments of the club on the ground.
New Sales and Marketing Manager Mark Ruddy is responsible for the marketing and communications strategies at the club and has held previous roles as Golf Events Manager in Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club and working for the UAEPGA as Tournament Director in the United Arab Emirates.
Last year, the club unveiled a new three-hole academy on the grounds, resulting in 40 new junior members.
Lance Evans, Director of Charlesland Golf Course Ltd, said he was proud to see the club reach a landmark 25 years and happy to see the recent changes put in place by Carr Golf to boost the company even further.
‘ The club has grown from strength to strength, shown recently by the record number of new members who have joined,’ said Mr Evans.
Ed Pettit, Managing Director at Carr Golf said improvements at the club were making it an attractive proposition for golfers and their families.
