THE FUREYS

The Fureys bring their show to town as part of a fundraiser for Newtownmou­ntkennedy GAA Club. Tickets cost €25 and are available from hotel reception or any committee member. Doors open 8 p.m. and for juniors doing the 6k is €5.

IRISH NIGHT AND SET DANCING

Richie Cullen is kicking off his Strictly for An Tochar fundraisin­g campaign with this Irish night and set dancing. There will also be a raffle on the night. Admission is €5.

SPONSORED BEARD SHAVE

Despite the chill in the air now in the evenings, a string of volunteers – including Rev Mairt Hanley – have put their names forward for this fundraisin­g beard shave in aid of the Chernobyl Foundation of Ireland. A raffle will be held on the night.

LEONARD COHEN TRIBUTE

The great singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen will be celebrated at this special night in aid of Wicklow Cancer Support and Wicklow RNLI. Singers and musicians from around the county will perform songs from Cohen’s extensive catalogue, and explain why. BIODIVERSI­TY WALK AND TALK

Learn about the flora and fauna around the Vartry Reservoir walks during this family-friendly event featuring guest speakers and refreshmen­ts afterwards. This event is being organised by Valerie Halligan and Karina Pierce as part of their fundraisin­g campaigns for Strictly An Tochar.

FUN DAY AND KICK FADA

Members and non-members are welcome along to Bray Emmets GAA Club for this day of celebratio­ns, which will feature the 18th annual All-Ireland Kick Fada competitio­n from 12.30 p.m. to 2 p.m. There will be lots of games, stalls and food stalls to keep young and old entertaine­d. Entry is free.

HAIRSPRAY

The 10km and 5km dash from Carlow to Wicklow is back! Runners, joggers, walkers and strollers are invited to take on this flat run over the border from Carlow to Wicklow. Registrati­on takes place at St Joseph’s NS from 9.30 a.m.

GLENCREE PEACE WALK

To mark the Internatio­nal Day of Peace, a group will walk from Glencullen to Glencree while raising funds to support the peace-buiding efforts of Glencreee Centre for Peace and Reconcilia­tion. The walk cover a 10km stretch of the Wicklow Way, with a bus transfer at the end to the Glencree centre for refreshmen­ts and drop-off back to Glencullen. ORIGINAL GARDEN OF IRELAND RUN STATIC SHOW
