We played Ballinacor, short a number of first team player’s due to injury or other commitments we asked some of the junior panel to come on board and fair play to, shane O’Neill, Joe O’Neill and Conor Hanley who gave everything on the pitch.

We wasted alot of chances during this match but although the result didn’t go our way it was very positive that we had a panel of 18 today while missing 5 of the starting championship team. The junior A football team exited the championship at the quarter-final stage when going down unluckily to Baltinglass recently.

Having accounted impressively for our neighbours Coolboy by an eight point margin in the final group game, hopes were high that we could progress to the semi-final stage but an opposition goal midway through the second half proved to be decisive score and we lost out by a two-point margin.

A word of thanks from our Cathairlaoch Mark Dempsey to everyone who turned out to help with the Fairgreen clean-up recently , On Saturday next club members are requested to assist with a similar operation at the local playground Area, all those with an hour or two to spare should attend at 4 pm.

No shortage of activity at Juvenile level recently, on Saturday last our U8 and U10 football teams beat all comers to emerge victorious in both age groups in the Annacurra tournament the 8s after playing five games accounted for final opponents Aughrim while the 10s got the the better of the host club in their final our thanks to the Annacurra club and the family of the late Sean Maher R.I.P for the kind invitation to participate.

The U-13 St.Marys football team had to give best to a strong Tomacork side on the Fairgreen recently.

The U/11s continue to impress and had a good championship win over Bray Emmets in Ballinakill , they will hoping to progress further with a win on this Wednesday 13th Sept. and all going according to plan a final appearance on Saturday next 16th is a possibility.
