Well done to the lads on a good win in their last group game yesterday morning. Stratford travelled over on a horrible morning to play us and we came through by 5 points after a tough battle.
Next up is the relegation playoff against Kilmac on Saturday. Throw in is at 5.30 in Ashford. All support welcome as we look to keep ourselves safe in Intermediate!
BALTINGLASS
Lotto - After numerous weeks our lotto jackpot has been won, massive congratulations to Romie McGreal on winning the jackpot of €17,800 on Monday night, September 4.

Action packed week of games, on Monday night our U16 girls had a great win against Carlow. Well done girls, keep up the good work. Thursday evening saw our U13 girls in their first outing in the Kildare league who also had a great win.
Our U15 Boys had a fantastic win over St Pats on Friday night in their championship on a score line of 5-12 to 2-5, fantastic scoring boys. Well done to Jason Kenny scoring 2-2 on the night.
Friday also saw our U12 girls win their semi-final and are now through to the county final. Big well done girls and we look forward to the final now.
Our U9 and U11girls played in Moorefield on Saturday morning, both winning their matches. Great play by all the girls.
Our U13 girls played Na Fianna on Saturday morning also well done to the girls who held their nerve to come out on top.
Our Senior men took on Eire Og on Saturday evening in Aughrim which finished a draw on a scoreline of Balto 0-14 Eire Og 2-8.
Well fought battle with the lads showing great commitment and team work in the second half. Replay date to be confirmed.
The last game of the week was our Senior Ladies who played Bray in the Senior ‘B’ final in Roundwood.
The ladies unfortunately lost out by one point but fought well to come back after time. Well done ladies, we are very proud of you. Onwards and upwards next year.
Best of luck to Anthony Nolan who has been appointed as the referee for the All-Ireland Minor football final this weekend between Kerry and Derry. A fantastic end to a fantastic season for Anto and his team – good luck lads!
DUNLAVIN
GAA Lotto – No winner from last week’s draw. Numbers drawn were 4, 5, 10, and 24. No winner of the jackpot. Congratulations to five winners of €50 each - Intermediate Players Synd, Margaret Healy, Marie Whelan, Eileen Dawson and Tina O Dwyer.

Well done to the Intermediates on a crucial win over Donard-The Glen in the quarter-finals of the championship in Baltinglass. Dunlavin went ahead early on and at half-time it stood Dunlavin 0-6 to Donard-The Glen 0-2.
Donard-the Glen threatened after a second half goal but Dunlavin remained focused and took their points. Full-time: Dunlavin 0-10 Donard-The Glen 1-4.
Best of luck to the team as they prepare for the semi-finals. Thanks to all the supporters who came in their droves to shout on the lads.

Ladies – Clan na Gael will play Pats at home on Thursday evening (14th) in the league, a big match for the girls with Pats currently unbeaten and having just won the Junior championship to our girls having lost just one match this year in the league and currently sitting at #2 so all is to play for.
Men’s – the lads will play Hollywood in the semi-final of the JBFC this Saturday at 4pm in Ashford, we would encourage everyone to make the short journey and get down and support Tom and the lads in their most important match of the year so far. Best of luck to all players, Tom, Tibby and Dara.
Juveniles – busy week ahead for the juveniles, the u15 Clan na Gael team will play St Hughs at 7pm in Kilmac on Thursday night (14th), u7s and u9s have a blitz in Kilmac at 7pm on Friday night and finally the u11s have a football festival tournament in Ballinakill on Saturday. Please note there will be no nursery training this week, Friday.

A busy weekend ahead for our adult teams. This Friday (15) in Newtown, the Junior ‘C’ team play Kilcoole at 8.00pm in the championship semi-final. The following day, Saturday our Intermediate team face off against An Tochar in a relegation play off in Avandale GAA grounds at 5.30 pm. Support for both teams very welcome.
Our U12 girl’s play their final in Ballinakill on Sunday. More details to follow.

Well done to the Senior Ladies who came out on top in the County B Championship Final after a really tough second half against Baltinglass. There were some smashing performances across the team. All the ladies and mentors can be really proud of a great performance to finish to the Championship.

Kick Fada/Family Fun Day - Our Kicka Fada competition and Family Fun days takes place on Saturday 23rd of September from 11-3. It will see a host of county stars take part in the men and women’s competition, a mega blitz, stalls, cakes , games , food and prizes galore. This event is free and we have ample free parking. Tell your friends, invite them along to sample Bray Emmets at its best.

Hard luck to all involved with our Senior footballers who on a windy day in Joule Park Aughrim will be disappointed with the opportunities missed. Against the wind in the first half a well worked goal by Padge McWalter gave a glimmer of hope for the second half. HT St. Patricks 1-01 Blessington 0-09. Chances came and went with three goal attempts not finding the net leaving the final score: St Patricks 1-07 to 1-10
Hard luck to Barry, BA and all involved with the Junior A Footballers in the championship quarter final against Valleymount in Aughrim. A great recovery from the lads after an early goal from Valleymount the lads owned the last 15 minutes of the first half to reduce the deficit at half time to 2. St Patricks 0-05 Valleymount 1-04. The lads tried hard in the second half against the strong but could not make the break through required. Final Score St. Patricks 0-05 Valleymount 1-09

Well done to the St. Pats u11 blue football team for a really spirited performance away to Blessington tonight. Despite this defeat St Pats remain top of Div 1. With one game left it’s all to play for. Our next game is away to Annacurragh on the 13th Sept.

DONARD GLEN CAMOGIE
The Senior team are counting down the days to Saturday when once again we meet Knockanna in the Championship final in Baltinglass at 3.30pm. Best of luck to the team and mentors on the day.
The U8 and U10 teams finished up a great season of go games and challange matches with a trip on Saturday to St. Pats in Wicklow where they enjoyed a great day of camogie.
The U12 team had their last outing to Ballinakill recently where they enjoyed a great match against Avondale.
The U12s have travelled throughout the county this summer participating in league matches. The U14s have had a busy season starting early this year when they won the Kildare Division 2 league, they followed this up by qualifying for Féile and getting to the cup semi-final in their division.
Their final match of the season was the final of the C championship played in Ballinakill against Avondale this was a close fought match played in near dark conditions but the team won out.
The U16s are in preparation for the A championship final to be played on the 20th September when they meet Bray.
Our U15s team are at present participating in the Kildare league. Having played Leixlip and Naas they still have matches against Maynooth and Celbridge.
At county level it has been a good year for the club with a number of representatives on the Junior county adult team.
The club had eight girls on the U16 county team who made it to the final of the all Ireland “Progress to Success” competition.
Four girls from our club participated all summer in the U14 development team and travelled to various blitzes over the summer and last Saturday played for Wicklow in the all Ireland U14 blitz held in Dublin and followed it up with a trip to Croke Park on Sunday where they paraded with squads from around the country on the pitch in Croke Park during the All Ireland Camogie finals.
AVONDALE
Our Senior football team certainly lifted the mood in Rathdrum last Saturday when we took on and beat a much fancied AGB in the quarter finals of the senior football championship.
This was a very close and exciting game of football that went right down to the wire with many a finger nail been chewed until we heard the final whistle after what felt like a life time of injury time.
To a man we all stood up to be counted and we now eagerly awaited our final county semi-final since 1986 where we will play Blessington. So a massive well done to the whole panel and management on a great achievement.
Last Sunday we held our family day and despite the very unsettled weather we had a great day so a big thank you to all the organisers of the event and to all our loyal support for turning out on the day.
Our U11 footballers are in action this Sat in Ballinakill and our U17 footballers play their second championship game this Friday evening, please check fixtures for time and venue.
Our club lotto is going very well and thanks to everyone for their continued support.
The second phase of of building project is well under way so hopefully it will be all up and running before years end.
AGB
AGB’s Senior men have been knocked out of the championship after a one-point defeat by Avondale last Saturday evening in Aughrim.
A tough battle for the semi-final place saw AGB bow out in front of a packed stand full of AGB supporters where the final score finished 1-07 to 1-08.
Huge efforts were made on the field but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
The sadness and despair were evident as the team exited the dressing rooms to hugs and well wishes from their families and supporters. Well done to the Senior team and their manager Damien Redmond on achieving such success in their first year as Seniors, to reach a quarter-final and be only one point away from a semi-final place has been a huge achievement for this team, an achievement that all in AGB are very proud to have witnessed.
The team will continue to play out the league and will face Ballymanus in their next match.
AGB’s U8 girls welcomed Kilanerin to Pearses Park on Sunday morning.
Although wet and dreary, the spirit of the young girls shone through as they were determined to tog out and play their matches.
Both teams were excellent and there was great football on display. A number of six year old girls were welcomed from the Academy to join the u7 team and they got stuck right in. Tea and cake were then on offer to warm the supporters up after a great morning of football. Well done to Margot Hughes and Harry Harte on a great morning, the future is very bright for the U8 girls.
AGB U10 girls had a great morning in Ferns last Saturday with excellent football and skills on display. Well done U10 teams, and coaches.
AGB’s U16 ladies played Newtown and have qualified for the championship semi final place with a great win, and a placement at the top of their group.
