-

BREAK FOR THE BORDER is back and bigger and better than ever.

On Friday last, local European Athletics Champion, Molly Scott launched the second annual Break for the Border - Carlow to Wicklow 10km and 5km race.

This year’s race is on September 24 at 11.00am.

Commencing at the community center in Hacketstown, all participants will head towards Tinahely and cross the border from Carlow to Wicklow.

Molly Scott, one of Ireland’s finest young athletes is delighted once again to join the Break for the Border team as the race starts in her locality and she spent her early years running with Hacketstown Athletics Club.

This summer, Molly competed in the European Junior Championships in Groseto, Italy where she made the semi-final of the women’s 100m hurdles, a great achievement after an early season injury hampered training. She went on to run as part of an Irish Junior team in the 4x1 relay at the Lausanne Diamond League where Ireland broke the national record. Molly will commence training for the World Juniors in Finland towards the end of next year.
