Wicklow men to ‘four’ as Leinster U-18s put Ulster to the sword

-

A QUARTET of Wicklow men played their part as Leinster U-18 Clubs demolished their Ulster counterparts 0-45 on Saturday.

Paddy McKenzie, Sam Porter and captain Luke Thompson all started the clash, with Mark Nicholson being sprung from the bench after 46 minutes.

The ruthless Leinster side lead 0-31 at the interval in a miserable Armagh venue and eased their foot off the pedal somewhat in the second period as McKenzie was withdrawn.

The Garden County men didn’t manage to contribute any of the six tries notched by the visitors on the day but all played their part and put themselves firmly in contention for a starting place when they travel to The Sportsground to take on Connacht this Saturday before rounding off their campaign a week later with a home tie against Munster.
