St. Peter’s suffered a defeat on their return to the Wicklow League after seven years as they were edged out 3-2 by Park Orient FC at the Little Bray Community Centre.

The sides were deadlocked at 1-1 at the break, with Jamie Kelly on target for the hosts. Orient took the lead early in the second-half but Chad Ryan netted the leveller.

However, it wasn’t to be their day with Park Orient grabbing the winner to make it two wins out of two.

Division 1B

St. Patrick’s AFC got their Division 1B campaign up and running by netting the perfect ten in the Phoenix Park.

The Avoca side overwhelmed Old Court Celtic 10-2, with Adam Browne scoring a hattrick, Paddy Kennedy netting a double and Aaron Tuke, Andew Doyle, Paul McGann, Bradley Moran and Ryan Werder adding a goal apiece.

In the other game in the division Glencormac United and Greystones United AFC shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw (see focus match).

Division 3

Ballywaltrim picked up three points from their opening Division 3 outing, with a single goal enough to see off Arklow Celtic at Ballywaltrim Recreational Park on Sunday.

The all-important goal came inside the opening 20 minutes when Cameron Griffin’s shot was deflected into his own net by an Arklow defender.

Elsewhere Shamrock Celtic proved too good for Arklow United, running out impressive 4-0 winners (see focus match).

U-20 Development League

Wicklow Town opened their Under-20 Development campaign on Sunday but lost out 3-2 away to Knockmitten United.

Adrian Durak fired Town into the lead, but the hosts then took control and built up a 3-1 advantage.

To their credit, the visitors kept plugging away and J.J. Power reduced the deficit late on, but they couldn’t force the equaliser.
