Arklow Library 6 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. ‘Boom Town’ is a novel by Anthony Cannon based on the story of

the Kynoch factory, which brought great prosperity to the town of Arklow. By 1917, the factory employed 5,000 men, women and children in the production of explosives for the British Army and the war in France. But this prosperity came at a cost, affecting the health of many of its workers, and on the night of September 21 disaster struck. Booking: Advised.
