Coole running for Ballymanus GAA

-

BALLYMANUS GAA Club will host their second Coole Run this year following on from the success of their maiden voyage last year.

The 10km and 5km fundraiser in aid of the local GAA club will take place on Saturday, September30 from 10.30am.

Registration for the race is with gorun.ie and the cost is €15 for the adult 10km, €10 for the adult 5km and children under 12 years of age can enter for €5.

Ideally named the Coole Run, the route takes the participants through the amazing scenery of Coolballintaggart which the athletes of all running and walking abilities can take in as they enjoy the route.

The hard-working committee at Balymanus GAA Club have been working hard these past weeks to ensure that the route is in top condition for the competitors and all they need now is Mothe rNature to lend them a hand with the weather.

There are two routes to choose from on the day, a 5km run/ walk and family event and the more challenging 10km run/walk. The committee have advised that any families looking to take part should take the 5km route as the 10km takes participants up rugged terrain on a steep incline.

Both of the routes leave the starting point located ideally just bedside the recently refurbished GAA club.

Shower facilities are available upon your return and tea and refreshments will be served in the local hall.

Prizes are on offer for first/second/third male and female in both the 10km and 5km routes and there will also be junior prizes.

The committee would like to thank all the sponsors of the event: The Meath Arms, O’Toole’s Loughe in aughrim, Gerry Keogh, D’Arcy Sand, Londis of Aughrim, Macrddin Rock B&B, Roadstone, DAR Golf, Avondale Sports of Rathdrum.

Ballymanus GAA Club hope that you can join them on the day and registration can be found online at www.gorun.ie or on the day starting at 9.30am. The prices are €15 for the adult 10km and €10 for the adult 5km with children under 12 years of age costing only €5.

You can also visit the Coole Run Facebook page for more information on the event.
