BRIDGET JONES - THE EDGE OF REASON, 3E, THURSDAY 9PM
Everything got bigger but not necessarily better in this second film based on the singleton’s diaries. Renee Zellweger switches between sweetness and irritating, her appetite for life sundered as she scuppers her relationship with Colin Firth. By contrast the, Hugh Grant is a sleazy triumph, proving he’s much more fun when he playing the bad guy.
The story picks up four weeks after the first film, and already Bridget Jones is becoming uncomfortable in her relationship with Mark Darcy. Apart from discovering that he’s a conservative voter, she has to deal with a new boss, strange contractor, and the worst vacation of her life.
