No progress on estate flooding

NO progress has been made to tackle flooding at Beechwood Park in Kilcoole due to a manhole on private property.

This was first brought to the attention of the members in May.

Engineer Ruairi O’Hanlon informed members in a report that they have encountered difficulties gaining access to a manhole, which is located to the rear of the property, and that raising this manhole cover is necessary for further investigation to take place.

Cllr Nicola Lawless said it seems like they are not getting anywhere and wondered if anything can be done to push the matter ahead.

Otherwise with the Beechwood situation, a CCTV survey is being done from Main Street through Beechwood Park, Bayview Close, Rockmanor Drive, Carrig Mór, on to Lott Lane.

Mr O’Hanlon said at a previous meeting that while they could technically proceed, they would prefer to do so with agreement.
