Price brothers through to six-chair challenge after bootcamp blip
WICKLOW brothers
Sean and Conor Price’s odds of winning the X
Factor have dropped from being joint-favourite after they hit a blip in Sunday’s Bootcamp.
The Blessington natives left judges unimpressed with their song Beggin by Madcon. However, they were given a second chance and performed Sing by
Ed Sheeran which impressed the judges and they are now through to the Six Chair Challenge.
Sean (17) and Conor (15) started out as joint favourites to win after they blew the judges away for the first audition which aired two weeks ago with Simon Cowell said it was one of the best auditions he had ever heard.
After Sunday’s shaky performance their odds of winning have now drifted to 5/1 from 4/1. However, they remain in firm contention for the title as second favourites. Grace Davies remains the one to beat as her odds to win shortened further as the favourite following another impressive performance.
Aoife Heffron of BoyleSports commented: ‘Simon Cowell called Sean and Conor Price’s first boot camp audition the least favourite performance of theirs and although they made it through after a redemption performance of Ed Sheeran’s Sing, they have been eased out to 5/1 from 4/1.’
While conferring judge Louis Walsh said he loved the brothers with Nicole adding, ‘ They have so much fire in their bellies.’
But their nerves got the better of them with their first song with both Simon and Sharon Osbourne agreeing the siblings were very nervous. But all four judges still believe in the brothers’ potential and put them through to the next stage of the contest.
