SPECIAL SPA TREATMENTS FOR CANCER SUFFERERS

-

AHEAD of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort have announced that their team in The Spa are offering specialist treatment to those suffering from cancer.

The team recently received specialist training from ‘ The Power of Touch’ certifying that they are highly-educated in providing safe treatments to those who are living with cancer.

The Wellness for Cancer Care training ensures that The Spa at Druids Glen can provide guests with some much needed relaxation no matter what stage of treatment or recovery they are in with many of their treatments specially adapted and tailored to suit their needs.

Michelle O’Connor, The Spa at Druids Glen Manager said: ‘we are delighted to be able to offer safe treatments in a relaxed environment.

‘For those living with cancer, we hope it will give them a chance to leave the world behind for a short while and enjoy some pampering at the hands of our professionally trained therapists. In particular we are thrilled to be able to offer this service as we enter into Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.’

The Power of Touch’ was founded by Michelle Hammond and is a UK based company that was developed due to the growing statistics of people living with cancer.

Research carried out by Michelle in early 2014 demonstrated that the current beauty and spa industry was not doing enough to support the health and wellness sector.

‘ The Power of Touch’ are now focused on educating and empowering therapists and their goal is to ensure everyone has access to learning resources and practical workshops that enable that to understand what is practical, possible and beneficial when treating clients with cancer.

Guests of the spa can also enjoy the facilities in the Druids Glen Health Club.
