Hurling finals
Saturday was a busy day for the hurlers of Kilmacanogue/Enniskerry.
First up on Saturday morning was the under-11 team who travelled to Ballinakill in Rathdrum to face a well fancied Tinahely side. The game finished level after normal time but Kilmac suffered the heartbreak of conceding a late goal in extra time to miss out on victory. However, manager Garret Power was delighted with their brave efforts and looks forward to next season.
In the afternoon, the Senior Hurlers travelled to Arklow to play St Patrick’s in the Junior C Hurling Final. This was a tight affair and despite conceding some early scores, Kilmac/Enniskerry rallied to trail 1-04 to 1-01 at the break. It got even closer after the restart when there was only a point in it before St Pat’s scored a goal and ran out 2-08 to 2-04 winners. Hard luck to both our hurling teams.
