Consultation for two playgrounds
WICKLOW County Council are starting the public consultation process over playgrounds planned for Roundwood and Laragh.
The Roundwood site is located close to An Tochar GAA grounds near the entrance to the village. The site in Laragh is situated at the Brockagh Resource Centre.
Currently, neither villages has a playground. Deputy Pat Casey has been involved in both projects, with plans for a playground in Roundwood dating back over a ten year period.
He said: ‘It will be the first playground for both villages and the two sites are secure. Playgrounds are a vital facility for our young people and promote health living and education. The fact that we are waiting over 10 years in the case of Roundwood shows the complexity of the process. Both sites are ideally located and the playgrounds will prove a wonderful addition to both Roundwood and Laragh.’
The consultation process will continue for around six weeks.
