Florentine tender process ongoing

COUNCIL officials are waiting for private sector lawyers to provide documents for the tender process for the Florentine Centre.

‘We will be sending them to shortlisted candidates in a week or 10 days hopefully,’ said Des O’Brien, speaking at last week’s meeting of Bray Municipal District.

‘ Time is of the essence if we want to get it realised by Christmas 2019,’ said Mr O’Brien.

He suggested that the tender should be brought straight to a council meeting when ready, with a special meeting to be arranged if necessary.

‘It’s been a long drawn out process which seems to be coming to an end,’ said Cllr Pat Vance. ‘I agree we should have a special meeting and get it allocated to whoever gets the job. It’s up to a two year programme and it can’t come quick enough.’
